Škotsku destileriju Bladnoch, smještenu u regiji Lowland, podijelio sam na dva degustacijska događaja, po šest uzoraka na svakom. Mogu reći da mi je nakon toga Bladnoch postala najdraža Lowland destilerija. Iako nijedan od uzoraka nije izazvao 'wow' efekt, karakter destilerije se jasno prepoznaje kroz sve uzorke, a takav karakter mi osobno odgovara. Kod mlađih uzoraka (8-10 godina) primjećuje se određena nota sira, slična fonduu, koja mi baš i ne odgovara, ali se svejedno dobro uklapa s ostalim notama. Dominantne note su one livade, ali ne svježe pokošene trave, koju baš i ne volim, niti su previše cvjetne, što također ne preferiram, već više podsjećaju na divlju, neistraženu
livadu. Osjećaj je kao da ste satima hodali kroz šumu i onda naišli na čistinu s livadom usred ničega – baš takav miris možete zamisliti. Među ostalim notama, većina uzoraka sadrži karamelu i med, te lagane parfemske note. Kod starijih uzoraka (11+ godina) jasno se osjećaju zemljane note, koje obožavam. Završetak je kod većine uzoraka srednje dug, s jakim udarcem papra i čilija (što me jako podsjetilo na Taliskerov završetak, pa bi ljubitelji toga mogli uživati). Kod znatno starijih uzoraka (19+ godina) intenzivne note livade i zemlje se lagano gube, ali se dobiva na kompleksnosti. Osobno, iz svega što sam probao, najviše preferiram raspon od 11-16 godina. Posebno sam uživao u single cask-u od Porta starom 14 godina.

BLADNOCH DISTILLERY TASTING - A BRIEF OVERVIEW
I divided the Scottish distillery Bladnoch tasting samples, located in the Lowland region, into two tasting events, each featuring six samples. I can say that Bladnoch has become my favorite Lowland distillery after this experience. Although none of the samples produced a 'wow' effect, the distillery's character is clearly recognizable in all of them, and I personally find this character appealing. In the younger samples (8-10 years), there is a certain cheese-like note, similar to fondue, which isn't exactly to my liking, but still blends well with the other notes. The dominant notes are of a meadow, but not of freshly cut grass, which I don't particularly enjoy, nor are they overly floral, which I also don't prefer. They remind me more of a wild, unexplored meadow. It feels like you've been walking for hours through a forest and then come upon a clearing with a meadow in the middle of nowhere – that's the kind of scent you can imagine. Among the other notes, most samples contain caramel and honey, along with light perfume notes. In the older samples (11+ years), earthy notes, which I adore, are distinctly present. The finish in most samples is medium-long, with a strong kick of pepper and chili (reminding me a lot of Talisker's finish, so enthusiasts might enjoy that). In the considerably older samples (19+ years), the intense meadow and earth notes gradually fade, but there is a gain in complexity. Personally, from everything I've tried, I prefer the range of 11-16 years the most. I particularly enjoyed the 14-year-old single cask from Port.
