Tijekom ove godine kušali smo mnogo uzoraka viskija iz 2023. godine, susretali mnoge izvanredne viskije, ali ovaj se ističe. Prvi miris ostavlja vas u čudu "što je ovo?" Ovaj uzorak smo dobili od dragog prijatelja, bez posebnih očekivanja. Po našem mišljenju, to je najbolja boca izdana u 2023. godini.
Ako se sjećate Springbanka destiliranih krajem '90-ih... pa, ova boca je nekako slična - mješavina starijih Springbanksa i Highland Parkova. Ne posjeduje Springbankov "funk", ali ima Orkneyjev dim. Decadent Drinks je poznat po svojim skupljim bocama, ali ova se čini da je mnogima promakla s obzirom na nižu cijenu. £145 ili €189 u EU (za hrvatsko tržište za 198€ + dostava) za 19-godišnji Highland Park, single hogshead, malo razrijeđen na 53%.
Ako preferirate glatke, uravnotežene i nježne viskije, ova boca možda nije za vas... Ali ako preferirate one prljave, tamne, divlje, karakterne, bogate, uljaste kompleksne viskije načinjene kako su nekad radili - ovo je točno to. Naše preporuke dok ga još ima u dućanu.

Paleta
početak je iznenađujuće blag, što je neočekivano s obzirom na miris. Polako se razvija i doseže očekivanja nosa. Ima puno vanilije, karamele, kremastog, uljastog, viskoznog. Također lagano dima i mineralnosti s finalom kakao maslaca i gorkih badema.

Don't let the delicate label or our photo deceive you; what lies within is anything but gentle. Inside, you'll find a true 'Dirty Harry.' Throughout this year, we've tasted a lot of samples of whiskies in 2023, encountering many exquisite whiskies, but this one stands out. Upon first scent, you're left wondering "what is this?" We received this sample from a dear friend, with no particular expectations. In our opinion, it's the best bottle released in 2023. If you remember Springbanks distilled in the late '90s... well, this bottle is somewhat similar - a blend of older Springbanks and Highland Parks. It doesn't possess the Springbank funk, but it does feature Orkney peat.
Decadent Drinks is known for its pricier bottles, yet this one seems to have flown under the radar by many. £145 or €189 in the EU for a 19-year-old Highland Park, single hogshead, slightly diluted to 53%. If you prefer smooth, balanced and gentle whiskies, this bottle might not be your cup of tea... But if you prefer those dirty, dark, wild, character, rich, oily complex whiskies made the way they used to be made - this is spot on. We highly recommend it.
Nose
thick and oily, robust, grapefruit, vanilla pudding, honey, caramel, seaspray, crab meat, dirt, nutty, toasted oak, orange flower
Palette the arrival is surprisingly tame, which is unexpected considering the nose. It slowly develops and reaches the expectations set by the nose. There are a lot of baking spices, vanilla, caramel, creamy, oily, viscous, light peat and minerality with a coco butter, bitter almonds finale.
