Bili smo svjesni da se priprema inicijalno izdanje od Isle of Harris Distillery, ali nismo imali nikakve podatke o boci. Kada je najava izašla, dizajn boce nas je potpuno oduševio. Moramo priznati da obožavamo boce koje stanu na sve police u našem domu :) To je bio glavni razlog za nabavku boce... nismo očekivali puno od samog viskija jer smo pretpostavljali da je prilično mlad.

Kutija je neobično dizajnirana; moram priznati, na početku nismo bili sigurni kako je otvoriti, ali brzo smo shvatili.

NOS:
treba malo vremena da se oštrina alkohola smiri, vanilija, blagi utjecaj drva, šećerna vuna, citrusni cvijet, zelena jabuka, lijepi zaokruženi nos, ugodno izbalansiran, u pozadini prljavoća
OKUS:
vanilija, karamela, blagi peat, baršunasta tekstura
ZAVRŠETAK:
peat, mineralne note i blage drvene note
ZAKLJUČAK:
Očekivali smo izrazito mlad viski, no umjesto toga, dobili smo jednu ozbiljnu bocu koja se može mjeriti sa nekim 12-godišnjim single maltovima. Njegova najveća mana je razvodnjenost. Ako vam se sviđa profil viskija poput Benromach ili Springbanka, ova boca će vam se zasigurno svidjeti. Po cijeni od 65 funti (u Njemačkoj maloprodajna cijena iznosi 79€), smatramo da je ovo boca koju biste trebali imati u svojoj kolekciji. Jedva čekamo neki cask strength ili single cask od Isle of Harris destilerije; s ovim inauguralnim batchem nas su kupili. Ocijena čvrstih 5/10, više prema 6/10

THE HEARACH REVIEW, ISLE OF HARRIS DISTILLERY
We were aware that an inaugural release from Isle of Harris Distillery was in the works, yet we had no details about the bottle. When the announcement came out, the bottle design utterly delighted us. I must admit, we adore bottles that fit on all our shelves at home :) That was the main reason we acquired the bottle... we didn’t expect much from the whisky itself, assuming it would be quite young.
In total, there have been 8 batches released. The batches are of very similar flavor (we haven’t tried them, but aside from what our friends who have sampled multiple batches have told us, we see the process, caks, etc., on the official Isle of Harris Distillery website). The box is unconventionally designed; I must admit, at first, we weren't sure how to open it but we quickly figured it out.
Let's now do a review of Batch 5
Nose:
It takes a little time for the alcohol sharpness to settle, vanilla, a light influence of wood, cotton candy, citrus blossom, green apple, a nicely rounded nose, pleasantly balanced, with a dirtiness lingering in the background.
Palate:
Vanilla, caramel, a gentle peat, velvety texture.
Finish:
Peat, mineral notes, and subtle wooden notes.
Conclusion:
We were expecting a distinctly young whisky, but instead, we received a serious bottle that can compare with some 12-year-old single malts. Its most significant flaw is its dilution. If you like the whisky profile like Benromach or Springbank, this bottle will surely appeal to you. Priced at 65 pounds (with a retail price of 79€ in Germany), we believe this is a bottle you should have in your collection. We can hardly wait for a cask strength or single cask from Isle of Harris Distillery; they've won us over with this inaugural batch. Score: very firm 5/10, we belive it reach 6/10
